18x24, acrylic on canvas. This painting embodies the rhythmic power and soul of Mardi Gras. As with all of my paintings, I try to capture the spirit of the thing I am painting. It is almost always an elusive objective, but every now and then it hits just right. Besides, the beauty is in the pursuit of the thing, not the final production. A beautiful struggle indeed.
