This is another painting in my wildlife series. I approach my animal portraits with the same vigor as my human portraits. Which is to say, I paint with a sense of my subject(s) story. Happen upon me while I’m painting and you’re likely to see me in full dialogue with my paintings. Lion prides tend to be a subject I often return too by virtue of their close family structure. Lions are majestic animals. This family portrait, includes mom, auntie, and a baby girl. I imagine that they had just eaten and are just relaxing as they digest their dinner.
